The Hon. Ana I. de Alba is a judge for the Superior Court of Fresno County, California. On October 11, 2018, she was appointed by California Governor Jerry Brown to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Dale Ikeda.
Judge Alba earned her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. She then obtained her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
While in law school she helped launch a free legal clinic that specializes in employment law.
In 2007, after she completed law school, she became an associate at Lang, Richert and Patch. There she handled employment litigation and encouraged the firm’s participation in community service projects.
In 2011 she was the recipient of OneJustice’s Pro-Bono Award for her efforts to promote pro-bono legal work in the Central Valley.
Judge de Alba was inspired to pursue a career in the law when she as a child observed her mother being denied proper legal help.
De Alba is a Democrat.
