The Hon. Ashley H. Amundson (Ret.) served as a judge for the Colleton County Probate Court in South Carolina. Amundson was elected to the bench in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 and 2018. She resigned at the conclusion of her term in 2022 and entered into private practice at Harvey & Battey.
Prior to her election, Amundson was an associate at McLeod, Fraser & Cone, a law firm she joined in 2008. During her tenure there, she maintained a general civil practice, handling insurance defense, municipal, probate, and real estate matters.
Amundson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina in 2001. She then completed a J.D. at the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2004.
She is licensed to practice in North Carolina (2004) and South Carolina (2006).
After graduating from law school, Amundson began her legal career as an assistant city attorney for the Charlotte City Attorney’s Office. She served in that capacity until 2008, providing legal advice to the city as it sought to expand its transit system.
Her memberships have included the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. She has also served on the board of the Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation and the ethnic committee of the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Amundson was born and raised in Walterboro, South Carolina.
She is registered as a Democrat.
