The Hon. Beth S. Jordan is a judge for the Marin County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2017. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Terrence R. Boren (Ret.).
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Jordan graduated summa cum laude with her B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1982. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1985.
She began her legal career as an associate at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran, and Arnold, where she practiced for three years. She then joined Landels, Ripley, and Diamond in 1989 and was subsequently elevated to partner in 1991. After practicing for nine years with the firm, Jordan entered into solo practice at her own law firm in 2000. Two years later she became a named partner at Greene, Jordan, Taubman, and Dias LLP (formerly Greene and Jordan), where she practiced until her appointment to the Superior Court in 2017. During her time in private practice, Jordan specialized in family law and was certified as a family law specialist by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization.
She has served on the Family Law Advisory Commission of the Board of Legal Specialization and also served as co-chair of Marin County Bar Association's Family Law Section.
She has been an active member of the Marin County Bar Association, serving as secretary, treasurer, and past-president.
