The Hon. Cynthia M. Feland is a judge for the North Dakota South Central Judicial District. She was elected to the bench in 2010 and re-elected in 2016.
The South Central Judicial District includes Burleigh County, Emmons County, Grant County, McLean County, Mercer County, Morton County, Oliver County, Sioux County, and Sheridan County.
Feland earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from the University of North Dakota in 1987. She then completed a J.D. at the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1990. She is admitted to practice in North Dakota (1991) and the United State District Court for the District of North Dakota (1991).
After graduating from law school, Feland entered into private practice. She supplemented her practice with service as a State’s Attorney for the Grant County State’s Attorney’s Office. Feland worked in that capacity until 1999, at which time she became an assistant state’s attorney for the Burleigh County State’s Attorney’s Office.
