The Hon. Danielle L. Miller-Harris is a magistrate for the Fairfield County Magistrate Court in South Carolina. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Henry McMaster in 2019.
The magistrate court presides over landlord/tenant hearings, summons and complaint cases (to claim disputed funds), claim and delivery cases (to reclaim property), and public sales of abandoned vehicles. Its magistrates also hear criminal and traffic cases, issue warrants and set bonds, and hold preliminary hearings and transfer cases for the county.
Prior to her appointment, Miller-Harris was a career specialist for the Fairfield County School District, a position to which she was named in 2017. Before that, she spent time as a litigation paralegal with the Burris Legal Group (2016 to 2017), Scott & Corley (2015 to 2016), and Rogers Townsend (2013 to 2015). She has also worked as a staff accountant at CoreLogic (2012 to 2013) as well as a criminal history researcher at General Information Services (2007 to 2010).
Miller-Harris earned a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing from Winthrop University.
Her memberships have included the Fairfield County School Board and the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce.
