The Hon. David E. Woessner is a judge for the Probate & Juvenile Division of the Wood County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. He joined the bench on December 29, 1998.
Woessner was the Presiding Judge for the Wood County Common Pleas Court (2002 to 2003) and the Administrative Judge for the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio. He has been tasked with overseeing the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, and he was instrumental in creating the Probate Court’s Volunteer Guardian Program as well as the Juvenile Court’s Intervention & Diversion Program and its Safe & Healthy Sexuality Program.
Prior to his appointment, Woessner presided as a magistrate for the Domestic Relations Division and Juvenile Division of the Wood County Court of Common Pleas. During this time, he also worked as a partner at Middleton, Roebke & Woessner (1990 to 1998).
Woessner earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 1981. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Toledo College of Law in 1985.
After graduating from law school, Woessner served as a court referee for the Bowling Green Municipal Court as well as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office. As an assistant prosecuting attorney, Woessner held assignments in the Civil Division, assisting in the representation of school districts and townships.
His memberships have included the Wood County Bar Association (president) and the Wood County Law Library Association (president). He also sat on the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Grant Advisory Board, the Board of Trustees of Behavioral Connections of Wood County, and the Wood County Ethics, Grievance & Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.
