The Hon. David Wolk is an assistant judge for the Rutland County Superior Court in Vermont.
Prior to his appointment, Wolk intertwined careers in both education and government. He served as a teacher at Mt. St. Joseph Academy, an academic dean at St. Sebastian’s School, and a principal at Barstow Memorial School and Rutland High School before becoming the superintendent of the Rutland City Public Schools and the president of Castleton University. He also spent time as the Vermont Commissioner of Education as well as the Chief of Policy for Vermont Governor Howard Dean.
Wolk earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Middlebury College. He then completed a master’s degree in educational administration and planning from the University of Vermont.
His memberships have included the Board of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation.
Born and raised in Rutland, Vermont, Wolk attended Rutland High School. He and his wife, Lyn, have seven children. Lyn is a professional mediator and conflict resolution expert.
