The Hon. Dianne L. Briscoe (Ret.) served as a judge for the Denver County Court in Colorado. Briscoe was appointed to the bench by former Mayor John Hickenlooper on January 11, 2011, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Herbert Galchinski. She retired on January 8, 2019.
Prior to her appointment, Briscoe was an assistant city attorney for the Denver City Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 1996. Before that, she spent time as counsel in the Colorado Job Training Office (1988 to 1996).
Briscoe earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Lincoln University and a master’s degree in business from East Texas University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.
After graduating from law school, Briscoe began her legal career as an attorney in her own private practice. She worked in that capacity until 1988.
Briscoe was raised in Denver, Colorado, where she attended Denver East High School.
