Hon. Douglas R. Manley is a judge for the Otero County Court in Colorado. He was appointed to the bench on July 2, 2004.
Manley, a part-time judge, also maintains a private practice in La Junta and has served as a part-time municipal judge for several communities in Otero, Bent, and Crowley Counties. On the bench, he hears civil, criminal advisements, misdemeanors, traffic, and small claims matters.
Prior to entering private practice, he worked as a prosecutor with the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office (1978 to 1982).
Manley received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Denver. He went on to complete a J.D. at Colorado Law and was admitted to practice in Colorado in 1977.
Manley is a member of the Colorado State Bar, the 16th Judicial District Bar Association, the American Judges Association, the Colorado County Judges Association, the Colorado Municipal Judges Association, and the Arkansas Valley Medical Center Ethics Committee.
He is also active in his community and serves as a deacon of his local church.
