The Hon. Elizabeth H. Beach is a judge for the Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 1 in Texas. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Perry on October 10, 2013.
Prior to her appointment, Beach was an assistant district attorney for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2006. Before that, she spent time as an assistant city attorney for the City of Dallas.
Beach earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1981.
After graduating from law school, Beach spent time as an assistant district attorney with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure there, she held assignments as Chief Felony Prosecutor, becoming the first prosecutor in Texas to successfully use DNA criminal evidence to produce a life sentence for a convicted rapist.
Her memberships have included the Texas District and County Attorneys Association and the Tarrant County Bar Association.
Beach and her husband, Andy, have two children. The couple attends McKinney Memorial Bible Church.
She is registered as a Republican.
