The Hon. Gary R. Alford is a judge for the Ogdensburg City Court in the Fourth Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to the bench by former Mayor William Nelson in 2014. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William R. Small (Ret.).
He is a registered Republican.
Judge Alford received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1973. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1998.
Prior to his appointment to the City Court, Alford had been in private practice since 1999.
Alford has served as the director and past-president of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a trustee and treasurer of the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority and the Morristown Gateway Museum.
His memberships have included the St. Lawrence County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.
