Hon. H. Michael Claver (Ret.) was a district judge for the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District in Oklahoma. He presided on the bench for twenty years.
The Twenty-Fourth Judicial District includes the District Courts in Creek, Okfuskee, and Okmulgee Counties.
Claver began his judicial career as a special judge in 1995 and four years later was named an associate district judge.
Before joining the bench, he worked for seven years as an assistant district attorney for the Twenty-Fifth Prosecutorial District, which included Okmulgee and McIntosh Counties.
He received a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Oklahoma City University. Claver then spent time in radio and television performance and in advertising and public relations before completing a J.D. at the University of Tulsa College of Law.
While attending university, he worked for nine years as an officer with the Henryetta Police Department.
Claver, a native of Tulsa, moved to Henryetta in the 1990s. He and his wife, Sherry, have two grown children. Claver is a member of the First Baptist Church in Henryetta, where he served as a Sunda school teacher.
