Hon. Henry C. Breithaupt (Ret.) was a judge in the Regular Division of the Oregon Tax Court. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Kitzhaber in 2001. Breithaupt retired in 2017.
Prior to beginning his judicial career, he was a partner at Stoel Rives LLP.
Breithaupt received a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Oregon School of Law in 1975.
He was admitted to practice in Oregon (1975) and the United States Tax Court (1980).
Breithaupt provided pro bono legal assistance to the American Tinnitus Association, the American Spina Bifida Association, the New Song Russian Christian School of Music, Tongan Community Services, the Portland Computer Training Institute, the Center for the Study of Religion at PSU, and the Portland Baroque Orchestra.
He was born in Portland, Oregon, where he attended Grant High School. Breithaupt and his wife have three children.
