The Hon. Inga H. Causey is a judge for the Eagle County Court in Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on December 12, 2022, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Rachel J. Olguin-Fresquez to the 5th Judicial District Court.
Prior to her appointment, Causey was a magistrate for the 13th Judicial District Court, a position to which she was named in 2022. Before that, she was a partner at Causey & Howard (2012 to 2023), supplementing her practice with service as a deputy municipal judge for the Town of Minturn (2020 to 2023), an associate municipal judge for the Town of De Beque (2020 to 2023), a municipal prosecutor for the Town of Vail (2005 to 2023), and a municipal prosecutor for the Town of Avon (2022 to 2023).
Causey earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and finance from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1994. She then completed a J.D. at Tulane University School of Law in 1999.
After graduating from law school, Causey entered into private practice. She started as an associate at Dunn & Abplanalp. She worked in that capacity until 2002, at which time she became a partner at Dunn & Causey.
Then, in 2005, Causey left the firm and became in-house counsel to the Trear Creek Development Company. She remained in that position for two years, eventually leaving to join the Bright Future Foundation (2008) and Amware Logistics Services (2009).
