The Hon. J. Gary Dellinger (Ret.) served as a judge for the 25th District Court of North Carolina. Dellinger was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mike Easley on February 16, 2007. He retired in 2015.
The 25th Judicial District encompasses Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties.
Dellinger earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University. He then completed a J.D. at the University of North Carolina School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Dellinger entered into private practice in Wilmington. He worked in that capacity for five years, eventually leaving to become an assistant district attorney with the 25th Prosecutorial District Attorney’s Office.
His memberships have included the Burke County Child Advocacy Center Advisory Board, the Burke County Community Child Protection Team, and the Child Fatality Prevention Team.
He was a resident of Morganton, North Carolina, at the time of his appointment.
