Hon. John Triplett (Ret.) was a judge for the Washington County Court of Common Pleas (General Division) in Ohio. He was elected to the bench in November 2018. Triplett retired two months later due to prevailing health issues.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Triplett went on to complete a J.D. at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law.
He began his legal career as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in the United States Army. Triplett was also a partner in the law firm of Theisen & Brock LPA.
He taught as an instructor at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and the NRA.
His memberships included the Million Dollar Advocate Forum and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. Triplett also sat as a member of the Red Cross Executive Board.
He was named Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the Fraternal Order of Police (2019) and received the Good Turn Award from the Muskingum Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America (2020).
Triplett graduated from Marietta High School.
