Hon. Julie C. Bauknight is a judge for the 267th District Court of Texas. She was elected to the bench in 2022.
The 267th District Court includes Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Refugio, and Victoria Counties.
Prior to her election, Bauknight handled family law matters in private practice for twenty-four years. Before that, she worked for four years as an assistant district attorney with the Victoria County District Attorney’s Office, where she helped prosecute misdemeanor and juvenile matters and also served as second chair during a capital murder trial.
Bauknight earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Southwestern University. She then completed a J.D. at St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1993.
Her memberships include the Victoria County Bar Association. Bauknight has also been involved with the Junior League of Victoria and the Cattle Barron’s Ball.
A longtime resident of Victoria, she moved to the area with her family at the age of four. Bauknight later attended Victoria High School. She has four children.
Bauknight is registered as a Republican.
