The Hon. Mark A. Munger (Ret.) served as a judge for the 6th Judicial District Court of Minnesota. Munger was elected to the bench in 1998 and re-elected in 2004, 2010, and 2016. He retired on January 11, 2019, and became a senior judge for the State of Minnesota.
The 6th Judicial District includes Carlton County, Cook County, Lake County, and St. Louis County.
Prior to his appointment, Munger was a partner at Clure, Eaton, Butler, Ferguson & Munger. He supplemented his practice with service as a city attorney for the City of Proctor.
Munger earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1973. He then completed a J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in 1981.
His memberships have included the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, the Duluth Trial Lawyers Association, the 11th District Bar Association, and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Munger was raised in Duluth, where he lives with his wife, Rene, and their four sons. He is a veteran of the United States Army. When not presiding over legal proceedings, Munger is a published author, having written for Writer’s Journal, Savage Press, and Cloquet River Press.
