The Hon. Mark E. Liberati is a judge for the Jamestown Probate Court in Newport County, Rhode Island. He was appointed to the bench by the Jamestown Town Council on January 1, 2019, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. J. Peter McGuirl.
In addition to his judicial service, Liberati is an attorney in private practice, representing clients in title clearings, liens, zoning, tax appeals, and contract disputes. At the time of his appointment, he relocated his practice from Providence to Jamestown.
Liberati earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 1977. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island (1977) and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island (1977).
A resident of Jamestown, Rhode Island, Liberati has served as Moderator and Councilor for the Town of Jamestown as well as a member of the Jamestown Town Council.
