Hon. Mary Thomason is a judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Arkansas. She was elected to the bench in 2018.
The 13th Judicial Circuit includes Calhoun, Cleveland, Columbia, Dallas, Ouachita, and Union Counties.
Prior to beginning her judicial career, Thomason practiced law for over thirty-seven years. During that time, she handled cases involving domestic, juvenile, contract, civil, and criminal matters. She also served as a magistrate, a city attorney, a public defender, and a deputy prosecutor in Calhoun County.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Thomason went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1980.
She was a president of the Union County Bar Association and was active in various committees with the Arkansas Bar Association. Thomason served as a board member of the El Dorado Camp Fire, the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, the YWCA, and the El Dorado Pilot Club. She was also a founding member of the El Dorado Crime Stoppers Program.
Thomason attends First United Methodist Church.
