The Hon. Paul G. Crowley (Ret.) served as a judge for the 7th Judicial District Circuit Court of Oregon. Crowley was appointed to the bench by former Governor Barbara Roberts in 1991. He retired on July 1, 2014, and entered into private practice as a mediator.
The 7th Judicial District encompasses Gilliam County, Hood River County, Sherman County, Wasco County, and Wheeler County.
Crowley earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University in 1981. He then completed a J.D. at Willamette University College of Law in 1985.
After graduating from law school, Crowley entered into private practice as an attorney at Allen, Stortz, Fox & Susee in Salem. He worked in that capacity until 1987, at which time he relocated to Hood River, where he specialized in criminal defense and juvenile law matters at Pitcher & Wright.
His memberships have included the Hood River County Bar Association and the Hood River Rotary Club. He has also been involved with the Oregon Judicial Department’s Special Task Force on the Future of Technology, the Hood River/Wasco County Victim Impact Panel, and the 7th Judicial District Family Law Advisory Council.
He and his wife, Susan, reside in Hood River. When not presiding over legal proceedings, Crowley is an avid hiker, mountain climber, kiteboarder, and cyclist. He also enjoys writing, playing bluegrass music, and gardening, and he is a longtime member of the Crag Rats Mountain Rescue Group.
