The Hon. Robert A. Neary is an acting justice for the Bronx County Supreme Court (Criminal Term) in the Twelfth Judicial District of New York.
Neary earned a B.A. from College of the Holy Cross in 1969. He then completed a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law in 1975.
After graduating from law school, Neary joined the Westchester County Office of the District Attorney, where he served as an assistant district attorney from 1975 to 2003.
He then began his judicial career as a judge for the Westchester County Court in 2003. The following year, he became a justice for the Westchester County Supreme Court. His time there was brief. After his initial appointment to the New York State Court of Claims, Neary was designated to the Westchester County Supreme Court by Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman. He served in that capacity until 2015, when he was designated to the Bronx County Supreme Court by Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks.
