The Hon. Ronda D. Holliman is an associate judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. She was appointed to the bench by the judges of the 6th Judicial Circuit on August 28, 2015.
The Sixth Judicial Circuit includes Champaign County, DeWitt County, Douglas County, Macon County, Moultrie County, and Piatt County.
Prior to her appointment, Holliman was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Office of the United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois, a position to which she was named in 2008. During her tenure there, she rose through the ranks, quickly becoming the Urbana Branch Supervisor in 2013. Before that, she spent time as an assistant state’s attorney for the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office (2000 to 2007).
Holliman earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Western Illinois University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Illinois College of Law in 2000.
Her memberships have included the Committee on Judicial Education, the Joint American Judges Conference Workgroup (2019), and the Board for Girls on the Run. She has also taught in the Trial Advocacy Program at the University of Illinois College of Law and the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois.
A resident of Urbana, Illinois, Holliman was born in Chicago and raised in Matteson. She spent her childhood outside, building forts, fishing, riding bikes, and catching tadpoles and snakes. When not presiding over legal proceedings, Holliman enjoys distance running and watching monster trucks.
