The Hon. Rose M. Zebell-Sosa is a judge for the 289th District Court in Bexar County, Texas. She was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.
Prior to her election, Zebell-Sosa was an assistant district attorney with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, a position she held for twenty-two years. She played an instrumental role in the creation of the Crossroads Girls Mental Health Court, the Restore Court, the MIND Court, and the STRIVE Court.
Zebell-Sosa earned a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1998. She is Board Certified in Criminal Law and Juvenile Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Zebell-Sosa and her husband, Alan, have two children. When not presiding over legal proceedings, she enjoys spending time with her family and their dog, Elliott, who was adopted from a local animal rescue group.
She is registered as a Democrat.
