The Hon. Stephen Antignani is a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in New York County. He was first appointed by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg to serve as an interim judge for the Civil Court of the City of New York in 2012 and was subsequently reappointed by Mayor Bloomberg to serve as a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Kings County in 2013. Judge Antignani has held his current post in New York County since 2016.
Judge Antignani received his B.A. from Boston College in 1987. He went on to earn his J.D. from Boston College School of Law in 1990.
Antignani first worked as an assistant district attorney with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in 1992. Then, after eleven years with the Queens County D.A.’s office, he became an assistant attorney general for the New York State Attorney General’s Office in 2003. Three years later, Antignani returned to the D.A.’s office, this time with the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. While there, Antignani first worked as deputy bureau chief of the D.A.’s Special Victims Bureau from 2006 to 2011. He then became bureau chief of the Public Corruption Bureau in 2011. Antignani held that position until his appointment to the Civil Court the following year.
At the time of his appointment to the Civil Court, Judge Antignani resided in Manhattan.
