Hon. Thomas E. Fowler is a judge for the Craighead County District Court in Arkansas. He was elected to the bench in 2016.
Fowler began his judicial career as a judge for the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court after being appointed to the seat by Governor Asa Hutchinson on August 4, 2015, though his tenure was brief. His term expired on December 31, 2016.
Prior to joining the bench, Fowler spent fifteen years as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the 2nd Judicial District in Craighead County (2000 to 2015). He also spent seventeen years at the Fowler Law Firm in Jonesboro (1998 to 2015).
Fowler received a B.F.A. from Arkansas State University in 1993. After graduating from university, he received the R.E. Lee Wilson Award and spent two years as a clerk for the elected prosecutor. Fowler went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1998.
His memberships have included the Arkansas Bar Association, the Craighead County Bar Association, and the Arkansas Prosecuting Attorney’s Association.
Fowler was the Director of the American Legion Arkansas Boys State program and has served as chairperson of the Judicial Discipline & Disability Commission and a member of the Judicial Discipline and Disability Committee.
He was named Volunteer of the Year by the Second Judicial District (2013) and was selected as a 2017 Visionary Arkansan by the Arkansas Times.
Fowler resides in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with his wife, Leslie. He is a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
