Hon. Tracy McDaniel is an associate district judge for the Pottawatomie County District Court (District 23) in Oklahoma. She was elected to the position in 2018.
She first joined the bench as a special judge in Pottawatomie County, having been appointed by the Twenty-Third Judicial District judges on September 1, 2016.
At the time of her appointment, McDaniel was the first assistant district attorney with the Twenty-Third Prosecutorial District, where she had worked since 2011. During her tenure there, she is credited with being the founding member of the Pottawatomie County Child Welfare Collaborative, which consists of providers such as social workers, nurses, substance abuse, and mental health counselors, that help families in need or in crisis.
Before that, she spent eleven years as a private practice attorney in Shawnee. Her practice focused on family law, including divorce, child custody modifications, adoptions, guardianships, guardian ad litem, and juvenile law. In addition, she represented the City of Prague, the Town of Asher, and the City of Shawnee.
McDaniel received a B.A. from the University of Dayton in 1995. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2000.
McDaniel was raised in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where she attended Shawnee High School. At the time of her election, she continued to reside there with her husband, Tim, and their three children.
