The Hon. W. Rob Lewis, II is a judge for the 6th Judicial District Court of North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper on February 15, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Brenda Branch.
The 6th Judicial District encompasses Halifax County, Bertie County, Hertford County, and Northampton County.
Prior to his appointment, Lewis was a partner at the Lewis Law Offices, a law firm he operated alongside his daughter in Ahoskie. Before that, he spent time as a judge for the 6B Judicial District Court, leaving the court after his judgeship was eliminated through the merging of the 6A and 6B Judicial District Courts in 2014.
Lewis earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the State University of New York at Brockport. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He has also received a Th.M. from Roanoke Theological Seminary.
When not presiding over legal proceedings, Lewis is a pastor at Conocanary Missionary Baptist Church near Aulander.
