The Hon. William L. McGuire, Jr. is the Supervising Judge of the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Bronx County. He has held this position since 2015.
McGuire began his judicial career as an interim judge for the Civil Court of the City of New York in 2003. The following year, he was appointed to the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Kings County. He presided in that capacity until 2014.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, McGuire served in the New York County District Attorney’s Office for twenty-five years. During his tenure there, he spent ten years as a Deputy Bureau Chief in its Trial Division.
McGuire earned a B.B.A. from St. Bonaventure University. He then completed a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law.
