NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Public Resources Code by the filing of a
Petition for Writ of Mandate against respondents THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF
CALIFORNIA and DOES 1 though 10, inclusive, in the Superior Court for the County of San
Francisco (case number to be assigned), relating to respondents’ adoption of a Mitigated
Negative Declaration and associated findings on March 18, 2008 regarding a project consisting of
constructing new research and instruction space at the Parnassus Heights campus site, including a
71,000 gross square feet research building to house the Institute for Regeneration Medicine and
an 8,000 gross square feet Auditorium to replace the lecture hall functions of Toland Hall, which
is part of historic UC Hall. The project is located on the southern end of the developed area, or
“shelf” at the UCSF Parnassus Heights Campus in San Francisco, bounded by Medical Center

Way to the South and Health Sciences East / West Towers to the North.
