On March 16, 2018, a Case Management Conference was held in Department 2 of
this Court before the Honorable Marie S. Weiner. Karen Frostrom of Thorsnes Bartolotta
McGuire LLP appeared on behalf of Plaintiffs, and Dylan Crosby of Burke Williams &
Sorensen LLP appeared on behalf of Defendant Redwood City. The previously filed
Demurrer was MOOT given that Plaintiffs filed a First Amended Complaint.
A briefing‘schedule was discussed and agreed upon by counsel for the parties
regarding the anticipated demurrer to the First Amended Complaint.
The Court encouraged the parties to proceed with discovery.
The Court made the following rulings at the Conference, which are set forth
herein as the formal order of this Court.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED ,as follows:
1. Defendant shall file and serve its response to the First Amended
Complaint on or before March 21, 2018. If the response is anything otherthan an
Answer, then the demurrer or other motion regarding the pleadings is set for hearing on
Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 9:00 am. in Department 2 of this Court. Any opposition
.
shall be filed and served on or before April 4, 2018. Any reply shall be filed and served
on or before April 11, 2018.

2. Counsel for the parties are reminded that CMC Order #1 requires that a
courtesy copy of all documents as filed be delivered to Department 2.
3. A Case Management Conference is set for Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at
9:00 a.m. in Department 2 of this Court, located at Courtroom 2B, 400 County Center,

Redwood City, California.
4. In anticipation of the Case Management Conference, counsel for the

parties should be prepared to discuss at the hearing and file written case management
conference statements (in prose and details, not using the standardiZed Judicial
Council form) with a courtesy copy delivered directly to Department 2 on or before
April 11, 2018, as to the following:
a. Status of Discovery, including the initial production of documents by all
parties, and deposition of the Plaintiffs;

Status of Settlement or Mediation;
0. Proposed hearing date(s) and briefing schedule on Plaintiff’s Motion for
