The Hon. Albert S. Conlon (Ret.) was first justice of the Lynn District Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jane Swift in 2002. Conlon retired in 2018 after reaching the mandatory age of retirement.
He received a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in 1973. Conlon then completed a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 1976.
He also attended the United States Naval Academy (1965 to 1969) and served in the U.S. Navy for two years (1969 to 1971).
Conlon began his legal career in private practice. He first joined Evans & Evans in 1977 before joining Riley & Valkevich the following year. He left his practice there in 1979 to work as an attorney with the Massachusetts Defenders Committee for four years.
In 1983, Conlon returned to the private sector to become a partner at Dalton, Valkevich, Conlon & Conlon. Over the course of his career in private practice, he also partnered at Ware, Samson, Conlon & Conlon (1988 to 1991) and Conlon, Samson & Conlon (1991 to 2002). His practice emphasized criminal litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury matters.
His memberships included the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Essex County Bar Association, the Greater Lynn Bar Association, the Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys, the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.
In his free time, Conlon enjoys reading and golfing.
