The Hon. Alfredo T. Conte is an associate judge for the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Gina Raimondo on May 19, 2017.
Prior to his appointment, Conte was an associate at Coia & Lepore, a law firm he joined in 1989. During his tenure there, he specialized in workers’ compensation matters in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, authoring Chapter 7 of “A Practical Guide to Workers’ Compensation in Rhode Island.”
Conte earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He then completed a J.D. at New England Law in 1987. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island (1987), Massachusetts (1989), and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island (1989).
Raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Conte was a resident of Cranston at the time of his appointment. His mother (a factory worker) and his father (a laborer) immigrated to the United States from Italy in 1956.
