The Hon. Alycia C. Chism is a magistrate for the Juvenile Court of Memphis & Shelby County in Tennessee. She was appointed to the bench by Judge Dan Michael in 2018.
Prior to her appointment, Chism worked for the Shelby County Schools since 2017. Before that, she spent time in Texas as director of a global compliance and ethics program for Fidelity Investments.
Chism began her legal career at a labor and employment law firm in Memphis before becoming an associate director and legal counsel for Congressman Steve Cohen. She also served as a policy advisor for constituent relations in the 9th Congressional District.
Chism earned a bachelor’s degree in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University. She then completed a J.D. at Duke University School of Law. Chism was admitted to practice in Tennessee in 2005.
Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Memphis, Tennessee, she attended Kirby High School.
