Hon. Andrea Beall is a judge for the 185th District Court of Texas in Harris County. She was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.
Beall presides over the Criminal Court in Harris County.
Prior to her election, she was an assistant district attorney, serving as felony chief of the Child Fatality Division with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Beall also taught as an adjunct professor at South Texas College of Law Houston and served as an instructor at the Houston Police Academy, where she taught 4th Amendment protections to law enforcement personnel.
She received a B.A. in political science from Baylor University (2009) and a master’s degree in international development (urban planning and development) from Eastern University (2011). Beall went on to complete a J.D. at South Texas College of Law Houston.
Before beginning her legal career, she served as a legislative intern for Senator Dick Durbin, Majority Whip of the United States Senate. Beall also spent time working with at-risk youth and young adults in Houston’s Third Ward through Agape Development and in the Second Ward through Mission Year.
Her memberships include the Houston Bar Association’s Gender Fairness Committee and the HAY Center Committee. Beall is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
She is registered as a Democrat.
