The Hon. Andrew C. LoTempio is a judge for the Buffalo City Court in the Eighth Judicial District of New York. He was first elected to the bench in 1999.
LoTempio earned a J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1988.
He began his legal career as a criminal defense attorney in private practice in 1989. For part of this time, he also worked in the Criminal Defense Division of Legal Aid for two years. Then, in 1999, he left his private practice when he was elected to the Buffalo City Court.
LoTempio stepped down from the bench in 2003, returning to his private practice as a criminal defense attorney. However, he eventually rejoined the Buffalo City Court after winning a judicial election in 2017.
He has taught as an adjunct professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.
