The Hon. Andrew J. Jarbola is a judge for the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 3, 2015.
Prior to his election, Jarbola was the District Attorney for the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office, a position to which he was named in 2000.
Jarbola earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Scranton. He then completed a J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law in 1985. As a law student, he served as a law clerk in the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office as well as a legal intern in the Legal Services Clinic at Seton Hall Law School.
After graduating from law school, Jarbola began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. James J. Walsh of the Lackawanna Court of Common Pleas. Then, in 1986, he joined the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office. He started as an assistant district attorney, rising through the ranks to become First Assistant District Attorney.
His memberships have included the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America, the Municipal Police Officers Education & Training Commission, Leadership Lackawanna, and the Victim Witness Policy Board.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Jarbola attended St. Joseph’s Parish School, Robert Morris Elementary School, and Scranton Central High School. He has been an active volunteer for the Minisink Lions Club, the North Pocono Parent Teachers Association, and the North Pocono Dandy Lion Little League.
He is registered as a Republican.
