Judge Angela D. Konczak: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Angela D. Konczak is a judge for the Gregg County Court at Law No. 1 in Texas. She was elected to the bench in 2022 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Kent Phillips (Ret.).

Prior to her election, Konczak worked for eighteen years as an assistant district attorney with the Gregg County District Attorney’s Office. Her caseload included misdemeanor, assault family violence, and juvenile cases.

Before joining the District Attorney’s Office, she was an assistant city attorney for fifteen years in Kilgore and spent three years as a contract juvenile prosecutor in Upshur County. In addition to her time as a prosecutor, Konczak worked in private practice.

She received a B.S. in criminal justice from Cameron University. Konczak went on to complete a J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Konczak and her husband, J.T., have two children.

She is registered as a Republican.
