The Hon. Angelica C. McIntyre is a judge for the Robeson County District Court in the 16B Judicial District of North Carolina. She was elected to the bench in 2018.
McIntyre was appointed to serve as Chief District Court judge for the 16B Judicial District by Chief Justice Paul Newby in 2021, becoming the first female Native American to serve in that capacity.
Prior to her election, she worked as an assistant district attorney with the Robeson County District Attorney’s Office.
McIntyre received a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2010. She then completed a J.D. at Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, in 2013.
Her memberships include the Robeson County Bar Association. McIntyre has served on the Chief Justice of North Carolina’s Task Force to Address Adverse Child Experiences, the Robeson County Domestic Violence Task Force, and the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council. She also serves as a board member of the Southeastern Academy.
She was named among the “40 Under 40” by the Fayetteville Observer and Campbell Law’s 45 Leaders in Law.
A native of Pembroke, McIntyre resides in Lumberton, North Carolina, with her husband Stephen, and their son.
