The Hon. Ann L. Wagner-Stewart is an associate judge for the Prince George’s County District Court in Maryland. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Martin O’Malley on September 16, 2014.
Over the course of her judicial career, Wagner-Stewart has held assignments on the Specialty Courts & Dockets Committee and the District Court Chief Judge’s Committee of the Maryland Judicial Council.
Wagner-Stewart earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from The George Washington University in 1985. She then completed a J.D. at the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1993. She is admitted to practice in Maryland (1993) and Pennsylvania (1993).
After graduating from law school, Wagner-Stewart joined the Prince George's County Office of the State's Attorney. During her tenure there, she rose through the ranks, serving as Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit (2003) as well as the Deputy State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County (2011).
Her memberships have included the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, and the Maryland State’s Attorneys’ Association. She also served on the Prince George’s County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team and the Juvenile Court & School Safety Work Group.
She is a recipient of the Governor’s Victim Assistance Award from the Maryland State Board of Victim Services (2008).
Wagner-Stewart was born in Chicago, Illinois.
