The Hon. Anne Marie Gennusa is a judge for the Putnam County Court in Florida. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis on April 17, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Joseph Boatwright to the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal.
Prior to her appointment, Gennusa was the president of Gennusa Law, a law firm she opened in 1999. She is a recipient of the Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent rating.
Gennusa earned a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies and psychology from Mercy College in 1990. She then completed a J.D. at Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law, in 1994. She later received dual master certificates in government contracting (2012) and human resource management (2013) from Villanova University.
She is admitted to practice in New York (1995) and Florida (1999).
After graduating from law school, Gennusa began her legal career as a staff attorney in the Criminal Division Division of the Legal Aid Society (Bronx) in New York. She served in that capacity until 1999, at which time she was hired as an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit.
She was a resident of Palatka, Florida, at the time of her appointment. She is one of the few individuals who have been certified to operate pet-assisted therapy, successfully implementing a pet-assisted therapy program for a multi-special needs population.
