Hon. Bradley A. Cruff is a judge for the Southeast Judicial District of North Dakota. He was elected to the bench in 2012.
The Southeast Judicial District includes Barnes, Dickey, Eddy, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Stutsman, and Wells Counties.
During his judicial tenure, Cruff has presided over the Richland County DUI Court.
Prior to his election, he was the State’s Attorney in Barnes County, having served in that capacity since being appointed in 2005. Before that, Cruff practiced as a partner at Lenaburg, Fitzner, Nelson, Hooper & Cruff (2000 to 2005). He first joined the Carol S. Nelson law firm as an associate after graduating from law school.
Cruff also served as a Valley City municipal judge (1996 to 1998) and had two stints as an assistant city attorney in Valley City. In addition, he was elected a Barnes County Commissioner in 1998, a position he held for four years.
Cruff received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Valley City State College in 1986. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1994.
He was born in Valley City, North Dakota, and grew up on his family’s farm and ranch in Rogers.
