The Hon. Brendan P. Conroy is a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He was appointed by former Governor Jerry Brown on December 27, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Mary C. Morgan.
Conroy earned a B.A. from California State University, San Francisco. He then received a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1984.
Conroy began his legal career as an associate at the Law Offices of Craig, Harris, and Collin in 1984. Three years later, he joined the Office of the Public Defender of Los Angeles County, where he very briefly worked as a trial attorney. Then, in 1987, he moved to the Office of the Public Defender of San Francisco County. He served there for four years, working as a senior trial attorney.
He left the public sector and started his own practice, the Law Offices of Brendan Conroy, in 1992. His law office specialized in criminal and civil mental health law.
Conroy is registered as a Democrat.
