The Hon. C. Todd Roper is a judge for the 15B Judicial District Court of North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper on September 4, 2020, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Joseph Buckner.
The 15B Judicial District encompasses Orange County and Chatham County.
Prior to his appointment, Roper was a partner at Moody, Williams, Roper & Lee, a law firm he joined in 1989.
Roper earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama in 1986. He then completed a J.D. at Samford University Cumberland School of Law in 1989. He is licensed to practice in Georgia (1989), Alabama (1990), and North Carolina (1990).
Raised in Snellville, Georgia, Roper is the son of an industrial engineer and a certified nurse assistant. He attended South Gwinnett High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track. Roper has resided in Chatham County alongside his wife, Kimberly, and their three children for thirty years.
