The Hon. Carlos E. Janè is a judge for the 22B Judicial District Court of North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper in 2017, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the late Hon. J. Rodwell Penry, Jr.
The 22B Judicial District includes Davidson and Davie County.
Prior to his appointment, Janè specialized in criminal, civil, and juvenile law in private practice for twenty years.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Janè then completed a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 1997.
He is a past president of the 22B Judicial District Bar Association and served on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.
At the time of his appointment, Janè resided in Lexington, North Carolina. His parents immigrated to the United States after fleeing the dictatorship of Fidel Castro before he was born.
He is registered as a Republican.
