The Hon. Charles V. Harrington (Ret.) served as a judge for the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. Harrington was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jane Hull in 1999. He retired on October 31, 2019.
Harrington was instrumental in creating the Fast Trial & Alternative Resolution (FASTAR) Program in Pima County. The pilot program was designed to resolve less complicated civil claims quickly and efficiently.
Prior to his appointment, Harrington was a partner at Chandler, Tullar, Udall & Redhair, a law firm he joined in 1990. Before that, he was an attorney at Snell & Wilmer (1986 to 1990).
Harrington earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Gonzaga University (1974) and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arizona (1976). He then completed a J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 1984.
He is admitted to practice in Arizona, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
After graduating from law school, Harrington began his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Smithmore Myers of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. He supplemented his service with work as an attorney at Richter, Wimberly & Erickson in Spokane.
Harrington was born in Butte, Montana.
