Hon. Cherie L. Clark is a judge for the Southeast Judicial District of North Dakota. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Doug Burgum in 2017, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John E. Greenwood (Ret.).
The Southeast Judicial District includes Barnes, Dickey, Eddy, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Stutsman, and Wells Counties.
Prior to her appointment, Clark was an assistant state’s attorney with the Cass County State’s Attorney's Office (2006 to 2017) and a former assistant county attorney in Otter Tail County, Minnesota (2002 to 2006).
She received a B.S. in biology and chemistry (1996) and an M.P.A. (1997) from the University of South Dakota. Clark went on to complete a J.D. at the University of South Dakota, Knudson School of Law in 2000.
She was admitted to practice in Minnesota (2002), South Dakota (2002), and North Dakota (2007).
Clark was born in Sacramento, California.
