The Hon. Christopher P. Johnson is a judge for the Hays County Court at Law No. 2 in Texas. He was elected to the bench in 2018.
Johnson earned a B.A. in history from the University of Dallas in 1996. He spent the next several years working as an editorial assistant at Harcourt Brace College Publishers. Then, in 2001, he completed a J.D. at South Texas College of Law Houston.
After graduating from law school, Johnson began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Collin County District Attorney's Office. He handled misdemeanor cases, quickly rising through the ranks to become Misdemeanor Court Chief District Attorney (2003) and Felony Assistant District Attorney (2004).
Johnson entered into private practice in 2005. He joined Flahive, Ogden & Latson as an associate, representing major insurance carriers in workers' compensation claims. His time there was brief. The following year, he joined the Hays County District Attorney's Office. He held assignments in the Misdemeanor Division, the Narcotics Division, the Family Justice Division, and the Misdemeanor Division.
Born in Hays County, Johnson is a seventh-generation Texan. He is the child of an Air Force officer. He is fluent in Italian, and he is an Eagle Scout of the Trans-Atlantic Council of the Boy Scouts of America as well as an Arrowman.
He is registered as a Republican.
