The Hon. Claire V. Hill is a judge for the Cumberland County Superior Court in the 12th Judicial District of the 3rd Division in North Carolina. She was elected to the bench in 2010 and re-elected in 2018.
Prior to her election, Hill spent twenty years as an assistant district attorney with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.
Hill earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1987. She then completed a J.D. at Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, in 1990. She is licensed to practice in North Carolina (1990) and South Carolina (1991).
Her memberships have included the Junior League of Fayetteville, Networth, and the Women’s Giving Circle of Cumberland County. She has also been involved with the North Carolina Human Trafficking Commission, the Board of the Child Advocacy Center in Cumberland County, and the Police Foundation Gala Committee.
She is registered as a Democrat.
