The Hon. Cynthia D. Ermatinger is a judge for the 443rd District Court of Texas in Ellis County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Perry on August 29, 2014.
Ermatinger earned a B.S. in interior design from Oklahoma State University in 1981. Then, in 1994, she completed a J.D. at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law).
After graduating from law school, Ermatinger began her legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Dallas County District Attorney's Office (1994 to 2000) and the Ellis County District Attorney's Office (2000 to 2002). During this time, she specialized in family violence, juvenile delinquency, and child abuse cases. She then entered into private practice, starting her own law firm where she handled criminal law matters.
Her memberships have included the Ellis County Bar Association, the Ellis County Defense Bar Association, the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the American Business Women's Association, and the Midlothian Rotary Club. She has also served as an associate board member of the Midlothian Education Foundation as well as a member of the Ellis County Bail Bond Board.
She is registered as a Republican.
